Nuevo alelo en el locus S de Matthiola incana R. Br.

Abstract

En la publicación presente se describen los resultados del estudio genético de un, mutante espontáneo del locus S de Matthiola incana R. Br. Dicho mutante, que se designa como S’ es recesivo de S (flor simple) y de dominancia parcial o ausente con respecto a s (flor doble). El genotipo SS produce un tipo intermedio entre simple y doble, al que se ba denominado “semi-doble”; forma anteras y polen normales, pero presenta esterilidad femenina por no formar ovarios funcionales. De acuerdo con los datos del presénte trabaje, es altamente probable que S’ se originara a partir de s (s—rS'), mediante lo que podría llamarse una “semirretromutación” retorno parcial hacia el tipo normal). Se incluyen algunas observaciones morfológicas realizadas sobre el. tipo mutante homocigótico (S'S').

In this paper are described results referred to the heredity of a spontaneous mutant in the s locus of Matthiola incana R. Br. This mutant, symbolized with St is recessive of S (single flower) and of partial or absent dominance over s double flower). Genotype S'S' produces an intermediate phenotype between single and double, which has been named “semi-double”; it forms normal anthers and pollen but is female-sterile because doesn’t form functional ovaries. According with the observation of the present work it is highly probable that S' originated itself from s (s ->S) by mears of a process which could be named a “semi-back-mutation” (partial return to the normal type). There are included some morphological observations made on the homozygous mutant (S'S').
