¿Qué otra cosa puede ser el cuerpo?

Abstract

El presente trabajo rescata una de las líneas teóricas puestas en consideración en la mesa temática Problemas de Género durante el 9° Congreso Argentino y 4°Latinoamericano de Educación Física y Ciencias. A partir de aquellos trabajos que referenciaron a Judith Butler en sus desarrollos, con el fin de cuestionar los criterios naturalizados con los que se clasifican los cuerpos, se intentan ampliar y profundizar las reflexiones de algunos expositores. Para tal fin, se exponen los interrogantes que emergieron en el interior de los debates sobre este punto, al tiempo que se enfatizan las líneas argumentativas utilizadas en algunas de las ponencias que dan cuenta de modos alternativos de pensar al cuerpo más allá de explicaciones esencialistas. Finalmente, se retoman algunas reflexiones llevadas a cabo en el debate posterior a la lectura de los trabajos que focalizaron el lugar de las prácticas de la educación física como reproductora y transformadora, al mismo tiempo, de las normas de género y sexualidad.

The present study goes over one of the theoretical approaches taken into consideration at the Gender Issues (Problemas de Género) panel during the 9th Argentinian and 4th Latinamerican Congress on Physical Education and Sciences (9° Congreso Argentino y 4° Lationamericano de Educación Física y Ciencias). Given those research works which make reference to Judith Butler in order to question the naturalized criteria used to classify the bodies, this study is an attempt to expand on and deepen some of the speakers’ thoughts. With this aim in mind, questions raised on this point at the debate are put forward, while at the same time, particular emphasis is placed on arguments employed in the research papers that favour alternative ways of thinking about the body beyond essencialist explanations. Finally, some reflections from the debate after reading the papers that focused on the teaching of physical education as the place for both reproducing and transforming gender norm and sexuality are taken up again.
