La crisis de la Unión Europea o de la persistencia del mito del Estado - Nación

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende describir el estado actual de incertidumbre, respecto al proceso de integración de la Unión Europea (en adelante UE). Partiendo de los antecedentes históricos más remotos, se hace un recorrido hasta llegar al Tratado de Lisboa. Se analizan las distintas concepciones respecto a lo que debería ser la UE, tomando en cuenta la opinión de autores tales como Ulrich Beck, Jurgen Habermas y Garton Ash, entre otros. Se procura identificar los bloqueos institucionales en el esquema europeo, y los desafíos presentes para destrabarlos.

This paper aims to describe the current state of uncertainty regarding the process of integration of the European Union (hereinafter EU). From the earliest historical background, this journey goes through time to reach the Lisbon Treaty. Different conceptions about what the EU should be, taking into account the view of authors such as Ulrich Beck, Jurgen Habermas and Garton Ash, and others, are analyzed. institutional blockages under the European scheme, as well as the present challenges are tried to identify so as to unlock them.
