Alfonso Gumucio

Abstract

El artículo es una invitación a conocer el pensamiento de un referente de la comunicación para el cambio social: Alfonso Gumucio, quien desde distintas disciplinas ha participado en la elaboración de esta perspectiva, no sólo con la teoría sino con una enorme experiencia de trabajo de campo. Sus influencias, especialmente de autores latinoamericanos, los conceptos claves que maneja, tales como diálogo y participación, y sus vivencias en numerosos países del mundo, dan lugar al desarrollo de un campo que todavía se encuentra en construcción y que es importante conocer si se aspira a producir transformaciones sociales de manera colectiva y horizontal, con organización, empoderamiento y solidaridad.

The following article is an invitation to know the thinking of a leader in the field of communication for social change. This is Alfonso Gumucio, who from different disciplines, has participated in the elaboration of this perspective, not only with the theory but also with a huge experience of fieldwork. His influences, specially from Latin American authors, his key words such as dialogue and participation, and his experiences in many countries, have lead to the development of a field that is still under construction and it is important to know if aspirated to produce social change in a collective and horizontal way, with organization, empowerment and solidarity.
