Turismo literario como tipología emergente del turismo cultural

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende aportar a la conceptualización teórica del turismo literario como tipología emergente del turismo cultural. A tales fines, se presenta la revisión bibliográfica pertinente sobre el tema, a partir de la cual se sustentan los nuevos aportes. Además, se enumeran en una breve descripción algunas experiencias de turismo literario en el mundo. Seguidamente, se explicita la caracterización del perfil del turista literario – real y potencial - que se suscita sobre las bases teóricas de autores como Cohen (2005), Urry (2011) y Hiernaux (2012), entre otros; y del análisis del trabajo de campo realizado en este marco. De este modo, se ha logrado asimismo realizar una aproximación conceptual a los factores que intervienen en la elección de la modalidad turística en cuestión y sus características. La ciudad de La Plata y una novela del escritor argentino Adolfo Bioy Casares, se constituyen como el caso de estudio de este trabajo. En principio, se presenta un inventario sobre el potencial de la ciudad para el turismo literario. Para luego, dar lugar a la propuesta de un circuito turístico basado en el itinerario del personaje de la obra mencionada. Ya que como pudo estimarse según los resultados obtenidos, existe un público dispuesto e interesado en realizar este tipo de experiencias.

This work aims to analyze the theoretical conceptualization of literary tourism as an emerging typology of cultural tourism. In order to do that, a relevant literature review about the topic is presented, from which the new contributions are based. In addition, some experiences of literary tourism around the world are listed in a brief overview. Subsequently, a characterization of the literary tourist profile is developed and it arises on the theoretical bases of authors such as Cohen (2005), Urry (2011) and Hiernaux (2012), among others; and of the fieldwork analysis made under this framework. Thereby, a conceptual approach to the factors involved in the decision of choosing literary tourism has been achieved. The city of La Plata and a novel by the Argentinian writer Adolfo Bioy Casares constitute the case of study in this work. At first, an inventory about the potential of the city for literary tourism is depicted. Then, the proposal of a literary tour based on the itinerary of main character on the work mentioned is exposed. According to the results obtained, there is an audience willing and interested in having this kind of experience.
