Cobertura periodística de la minería: el <i>frame</i> de las noticias mineras en el Perú

Abstract

El artículo analiza la cobertura periodística de las noticias de minería publicadas en El Comercio, La República y Perú 21, desde agosto hasta octubre de 2016, con el objetivo de saber cuáles son los frames que la prensa peruana destaca en las noticias. A través del análisis de contenido se pudieron estudiar otras variables como fuentes informativas, valores y atributos noticiosos. El estudio muestra que, a pesar de existir un componente socio-ambiental en las noticias generado por la disputa de quienes están a favor y en contra de la explotación minera, la prensa peruana tiende a politizar los hechos desarrollando un espacio para la visibilidad política. Además, los resultados señalan que, en general, el periodista presenta las noticias de minería con sentido negativo y conflictivo.

This article analyzes the news coverage of the mining news published by El Comercio, La República and Perú 21, from august to october, 2016 with the aim of knowing which are the frames that the press highlights in the news. Through the content analysis was possible to study other elements for instance journalistic sources, values and news attributes. The research shows that although there is a socio-environmental component in the news generated by the dispute between whom are in favor or against to the mining exploitation, the peruvian press tends to politicize the facts by developing a space for political visibility. Besides, the results indicate that, in general, the journalist write the mining news with a negative and controversial sense.
