Adaptaciones curriculares en Odontología Integral Niños

Abstract

Desde la Comisión de Reforma Curricular de la Facultad de Odontología de la UNLP se realizan estudios que caracterizan mejor a los alumnos favoreciendo su permanencia. Con el objetivo general de analizar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes, se evaluará la cohorte 2006 con 7 años de permanencia y fueron graduados en marzo-abril del año 2013. Sobre una población de 120 alumnos se analizaron un n=73. Se estimaron las siguientes variables: año de la carrera, promedio académico, materias desaprobadas, y puntaje. Se procedió al análisis estadístico resultando que el promedio académico por año fue: Tero, de 6,25%, 2do. de 5,99%, 3ro. de 6,52 %, 4to. de 6,34% y 5to año, de 7,33%. Las materias desaprobadas por año fueron de: 68% en 1 ro, 115% en 2do, 66,6% en 3ro, 102,7% en 4to y 5,55% en 5to. El rango de puntaje de aprobados osciló entre 4 al 10 arrojando una media de 7. Concluimos que en 2do año obtuvieron el promedio académico más bajo y el mayor porcentaje de materias desaprobadas. Este estudio permitió ponderar el resultado de las evaluaciones con la finalidad de optimizar el rendimiento y aproximar el tiempo de duración real y teórico de la carrera.

The Commission of Curricular Reform of the School of Dentistry of UNLP carries out studies which allow a better characterization of the students and, consequently, foster their permanence in the course of studies. With the overall objective of analyzing the students' academic development, the 2006 Cohort will be evaluated with students who studied for 7 years and graduated in March-April 2013. Seventy-three out of 120 students were analyzed. The following variables were considered: year of the course of studies, academic average grade, failed subjects, and score. The statistical analysis was made. The results show that the grade point average of the year was: 6.25% in the 1st, 5.99% in the 2nd, 6.52% in the 3rd, 6.34% in the 4th, and 7.33% in the 5th year. The failed subjects per year were: 68% in the 1 st, 115% in the 2nd, 66.6% in the 3rd, 102.7% in the 4th, and 5.55% in the 5th. The grade of the students who passed ranged from 4 to 10 with an average of 7. We concluded that in the 2nd year of the course of studies students obtained the lowest academic average grade and the highest percentage of failed subjects. This study allowed us to ponder the result of the evaluations in order to optimize students' performance and approximate the real duration of the course to the expected one in the curriculum.
