Género y deporte: con la sexualidad "al palo"

Abstract

En el presente trabajo intentaremos analizar y reflexionar sobre un caso de discriminación en el deporte argentino, específicamente en la Asociación de Hockey de la Provincia de Chubut, a partir de los aportes teóricos y los debates conceptuales que ofrecen los distintos enfoques y autores del campo de los estudios de género, con la intención de comprender y cuestionar los modos en que son pensados los cuerpos y la diferencia sexual en la cultura contemporánea. Si aceptamos que los cuerpos están siempre atravesados por tramas sociales, cultural e históricamente configuradas; que no hay nada natural en un gesto, una mirada, una postura, en una forma de moverse, de sentir, de expresarse corporalmente; y que los cuerpos siempre han sido y son objetos y blancos de poder, podemos afirmar entonces que no pueden ser pensados, sentidos ni valorados por fuera de los discursos que los configuran. Sin embargo, pese a la cantidad de autores respetados que han escrito al respecto, permanece profundamente arraigado en las sociedades y las culturas contemporáneas un enfoque que insiste en el carácter natural, biológico, dado e inamovible del cuerpo y por tanto del sexo y del género.

In the present work we will try to analyze and reflect on a case of discrimination in Argentine sport, specifically in the Hockey Association of the Province of Chubut, based on the theoretical contributions and conceptual debates offered by the different approaches and authors of the field of Gender studies, with the intention of understanding and questioning the ways in which bodies are thought and sexual difference in contemporary culture. If we accept that bodies are always traversed by social, cultural and historically configured frames; That there is nothing natural in a gesture, a look, a posture, a way of moving, of feeling, of expressing oneself; And that bodies have always been and are objects and targets of power, we can affirm then that they can not be thought, felt or valued outside the discourses that shape them. However, in spite of the number of respected authors who have written about it, an approach that insists on the natural, biological, given and immovable character of the body and therefore of sex and gender remains deeply rooted in contemporary societies and cultures.
