Sobre la posición monetaria neta

Abstract

Este artículo presenta tres modelos macroeconómicos. El primero está basado sobre el modelo usado por el profesor Olivera en su artículo "La posición monetaria neta", publicado en esta revista, en el primer número de 1968. En el segundo modelo, los bonos emitidos por el gobierno no son medidos por su valor nominal, como ocurre en el primer modelo, sino por el valor actual de los cupones. En el tercer modelo, se ha supuesto que una parte de la oferta de bonos se agrega a la oferta del mercado del dinero. La efectividad de las políticas monetaria y fiscal es comparada en los tres modelos. También se discute el significado que debe darse a la diferente fuerza de ambas políticas.

This article presents three macroeconomic models. The first one is based upon the model used by professor OLIVERA in his article La Posición Monetaria Neta, published in the first issue of 1968 of this journal. In the second model, the bonds issued by the government are not measured by their face value, as in the first model, but by the actual value of the coupons. In the third model, it is assumed that a part of the supply of bonds adds to the supply of the money market. The effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies are compared for the three models. Also, the meaning that should be attached to the different strength of both policies is discussed.
