Recenti ricerche e anticipazioni sulla biologia degli anfibi dell’Argentina

Abstract

Sono dapprima tracciati i lineamenti generali della distribuzione geográfica degli Anfibi sudamericani, tenendo conto delle influenze determinate su di essa dalla storia paleogeografica e della fisionomía attúale dell' America del Sud. Viene quindi descritta la varietá degli ambienti e delle condizioni di vita degli Anfibi argentini, e viene tentata, su basi sufficientemente sicure, una prima delimitazione delle zone caratteristiche dell' Argentina per la distribuzione e per la biología di questi Vertebrati. In ultimo é presentato un quadro delle recenti ricerche condotte in Argentina intorno alia biología degli Anfibi. Tali ricerche, sperimentali ed ecologiche, seguono i piü vari e moderni indirizzi.

The general features of the geographical distribution of southamerican Amphibia are traced at first, by considering the influences determined on it by the paleogeographic history and by the actual phisiognomy of South America. It is then described the variety of the surroundings and the life conditions of Argentine Amphibia, and it is tried, on sufficiently sure basis, a first delimitation of the zones which are characteristic in Argentine for the distribution and the biology of these vertebrates. Finally, it is given a picture of the recent researches made in Argentina on the biology of Amphibia. Such researches, both sperimental and ecologic, follow the most various and modern systems.
