dc.description.abstract A priority in cardiac patients is the performance associated to a regular follow-up, when they leave the hospital to keep track on their scheduled physical activities. Unfortunately, not all patients begin a rehabilitation program, or if they are part, they do not perform all of the exercises. Consequently, a multi-agent system was designed and developed to enable patients with heart conditions and their doctors to achieve a feasible out-of-hospital follow-up; while monitoring their heartrate measures and physical workout. The present paper describes how the architecture was built in which Akka and Scala have been used to represent the agents through the actors model. We can conclude that it was a good decision to have used the agent-oriented paradigm for the future scalability of the application (both for the increase in the number of sensors and the possibility of agents with beliefs), but not for the CRUD operations. Future work will include a new development of Heart Care, adding more sensors and newer layers of intelligence. en
