La Escuela de Dibujo en el Museo de La Plata

Abstract

La actual Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata tiene su primer antecedente en la Escuela anexa de Dibujo del Instituto del Museo y Facultad de Ciencias Naturales. La orientación pedagógica inicial de la Escuela fue la enseñanza por correlación para los alumnos de la naciente Universidad Nacional, que implicaba la coordinación y la cooperación de las distintas secciones de la universidad, concentrando recursos y fomentando la sociabilidad entre facultades. Si bien esta dirección poseía un fuerte sesgo técnico en cuanto a la enseñanza del dibujo, también introducía elementos de formación artística. Dos de sus profesores iniciales fueron Martín Malharro y Miguel Rosso, quienes protagonizaron un persistente enfrentamiento acerca de los métodos de enseñanza mientras fueron colegas en la Escuela.

The current Faculty of Fine Arts of the National University of La Plata has its first record in the Drawing School attached to the Institute of the Museum and Faculty of Natural Sciences. The former pedagogical orientation of the School was the teaching by correlation addressed to the students of the raising National University, which involved the coordination and cooperation of the various sections of the university, concentrating resources and fostering inter-faculty sociability. Although this direction possessed a strong technical bias regarding the teaching of drawing it also introduced elements of artistic formation. Two of its early professors were Martín Malharro and Miguel Rosso, who staged a persistent confrontation about their teaching methods during their time as school colleagues.
