Oro digital en el capitalismo tardío

Abstract

Silicon Valley no es solo un área tecnológico industrial del norte de California, también representa un espíritu, una ideología y un modelo productivo para el resto del mundo, maquillado de valores legítimos como el de <i>hacer del mundo un lugar mejor</i> y atravesados por el espíritu individualista del progreso capitalista y la filosofía <i>new age</i>. <i>La silicolonización del mundo</i> aborda la historia, las características socioculturales y algunas de las consecuencias a mediano plazo del proceso de construcción de esta nueva hegemonía mundial.

Silicon Valley is not only an industrial technological area of Northern California, it also represents a spirit, an ideology and a productive model for the rest of the world, made up of legitimate values such as <i>making the world a better place</i> and crossed by the individualist spirit of capitalist progress and new age philosophy. <i>The Silicolonization of the World</i> deals with the history, the socio-cultural characteristics and some of the medium-term consequences of the process of construction of this new world hegemony.
