Abstract

A fines de 2018 y principios de 2019 visitamos al artista Luis Pazos con el objetivo de investigar la composición de su archivo personal y sus estrategias de conservación y activación. Nos enfocamos, particularmente, en las fotografías de sus primeros años de actividad ya que en este corpus documental vemos manifestada la perspectiva estética del artista sobre las relaciones entre arte y vida así como las tensiones entre lo íntimo y lo público, la obra y el registro, que dejan ver el carácter heterogéneo y anárquico del acervo, conceptos que resultan transversales a la noción de archivo personal.

By the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 we visited artist Luis Pazos, prominent figure of Latin American conceptualism, in order to investigate the composition of his personal archive and its conservation and activation strategies. The main focus was set on the photographs of the early years of his career, for this collection shows his aesthetic perspectives regarding the relationship between art and life, as well as the tensions between the public and the intimate, the work of art and its records reflecting the heterogenic and anarchic aspects of the corpus, wich are concepts that are encoded in the notion of personal archive.
