Las tres cruzadas o la historia de la des-legitimación de un liderazgo mundial

Abstract

Entre 1941 y 2001 los EEUU realizaron tres grandes cruzadas a nivel global: La primera fue la cruzada contra el nazismo y le permitió contribuir al triunfo de las potencias Aliadas y negociar con ellas la diagramación del sistema de post-guerra; la segunda fue la cruzada contra el comunismo soviético que le ocasionó un significativo desgaste y motivó que se pusiera en tela de juicio la honradez de su accionar; la tercera es la cruzada contra el terrorismo, que ha recibido la mayor cantidad de críticas y ha hecho que se cuestione su liderazgo mundial. Este trabajo examina el itinerario histórico de la hegemonía norteamericana a través del análisis de la capacidad y los caracteres de lo que entendemos por liderazgo mundial, en referencia a las distintas etapas del proceso histórico y de sus connotaciones específicas.

Between 1941 and 2001 the USA went on three global crusades: the first one was the one against Nazism, which allowed them to contribute to the Allies? triumph and negotiate the shaping of the Post-War system. The second one was the crusade against Soviet communism which cast the honesty of their procedures into doubt. The third one is the crusade against terrorism, which has received much criticism and has resulted in their world leadership being questioned. This work examines the historical itinerary of American hegemony through the analysis of the capability and characteristics of what we call world leadership.
