En la búsqueda de una estética nacional: un análisis desde la arquitectura

Abstract

Rita Eder en “Arte e identidad en América Latina”, plantea tres momentos para entender al arte latinoamericano y la problemática de la identidad. Se podrían ubicar en el primer momento tres propuestas en la arquitectura argentina encabezadas por Guido, Greslebin y Prebisch. En pleno auge de las vanguardias y de la consolidación de un arte moderno, Guido no logra proponer un arte autóctono sino que vuelve al pasado en busca de rasgos nativos, encontrándolo en el barroco mestizo. Greslebin, en sus primeros desarrollos, propone un estilo neoprehispánico para luego acercarse a la postura de Guido. Prebisch, desde la vanguardia de Florida, reivindica la arquitectura racional, de reminiscencias europeas. Se pretende problematizar, desde diferentes posiciones, la cuestión por la identidad y por un arte nacional y/o latinoamericano.

Rita Eder in "Art and Identity in Latin America”, suggests three moments to understand Latin American art and the problematic of identity. It could be located as the first, three proposal of the Argentinian architecture led by Guido, Greslebin and Prebisch. At the height of the vanguards and the consolidation of a modern art, Guido does not get to propose a local art but returns to the past for native traits, finding in the mestizo baroque. Greslebin, in their earliest developments, proposes a neoprehispánic style to then approach Guido´s posture. Prebisch, from the vanguard of Florida, revindicates the national architecture, with European reminiscences. It is intended to problematize, from different positions, the question of identity and national/ or Latin art.
