Las transformaciones de un fandom en tiempos de aislamiento

Abstract

En el artículo se muestran las transformaciones que atravesó un club de fans de Harry Potter, a partir de las medidas de aislamiento social dispuestas frente al avance del COVID-19. Se describen los orígenes del club, ligados a un momento de expansión de las tecnologías digitales y los encuentros «cara-a-cara» habitualmente organizados por el club. Como objetivo central, mediante una metodología de etnografía digital se analizan las nuevas dinámicas que lleva adelante el CHP en un contexto de obligada «virtualidad».

The article shows the transformations that a Harry Potter fan`s club went through as a result of the social isolation measures set out in the face of COVID-19’s spread. The origins of the club are described, bound to a time characterized by the expansion of digital technologies and the «face-to-face» gatherings habitually organized by the club. As a central objective, by a digital ethnography methodology, the new dynamics carried out by the CHP are analyzed in a context of mandatory «virtuality».
