Unidad y alteridad en "Hero y Leandro" de Museo

Abstract

El poema hexamétrico Hero y Leandro, se estima, data de fines del siglo V, en un contexto probablemente egipcio, dada su plausible pertenencia a la llamada “escuela de Nono”. Ahora bien, sin desconocer que su autor comparte muchos tratamientos con Nono de Panópolis y sus contemporáneos, sus influencias son más amplias. En este sentido, el presente trabajo prefiere con Miguélez Cavero (2008) complejizar la categoría de “escuela de Nono” y privilegiar al que quizá sea el único dato cierto acerca de Museo: su carácter de γραμματικός. A partir de este estatus de la intelectualidad tardoantigua, asimismo, se propone registrar la erudición con la que el autor construye el poema alternando nociones de identidad y diferencia. Así, se puede corroborar la formación gramatical de nuestro poeta y la habilidad con que la aplica al servicio de Hero y Leandro, así como la conciencia de su praxis que revelan las reflexiones metaliterarias.

It is believed that the hexametric poem Hero and Leander was created probably in Egypt during the late fifth century, because of its connectionwith the so‐called “school of Nonnus”. However, his author’s influences are wider, without disregarding the frequently shared treatments with Nonnus of Panopolis and his contemporaries. The present work attempts, as Miguélez Cavero (2008) does, to put in a complex perspective the “school of Nonnus” and in a prominent status the only (almost) certain fact about Musaeus: his condition of γραμματικός. Furthermore, based on this level of Late Antiquity education, it aims to record the instances of erudition by which the poem is structured, alternating notions of identity and difference. By this way, it is possible to corroborate the grammatical instruction of our poet and the skill to use it in order to improve Hero and Leander, as well as the self‐awareness that reveals his metaliterary reflections.
