The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adhesive behavior, microleakage and marginal adaptation between fiberglass posts, luting cement, core buid-up materials and the dental structure. For this work it is proposed to examine the interfaces by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the analysis of the penetration of a dye into the dentin / luting cement-glass fiber post-core build-up system interfaces. Regarding the penetration of a colorant, the partial results are presented in this work. Three groups of ten experimental units were formed. The materials used show some kind of adhesion to the dental structure. They are Glass Ionomer Cement, Resin-based Cement, Dentin Adhesive and Activator, Self-Conditioning Cement, High Viscosity Glass Ionomer, Hybrid Resin Composite and fiberglass posts. It is expected to determine which is the luting cement system that provides the lower interface and to be able to minimize microleakage and marginal maladjustment, therefore having a longlasting dental material. The results showed significant differences between glass ionomer cement (luting cement and core build-up) and resin-based cement with adhesive system, self-conditioning cement and core build-up composite. Therefore, the resin-based cement/dentin adhesive and self-conditioning cement/hybrid composite are the materials of choice.
