A Bouguer anomalies’ chart, gravimetric effects of the sedimentary package and isostatic corrections, were used to prepare an isostatic anomalies’ chart (or residual isostatic anomalies’ chart) that covers La Rioja Valley’s basin and the sourrounding areas (La Rioja province, Argentina). To carry out our isostatic 3D study in La Rioja Valley, Argentina, a system of isostatic compensation in Airy’s hypothesis with stretched bark was considered. Profiles across the studied basin were traced to observe the variations of the basement in N-S strike. Our results point out that isostatic anomalies are negative in the domain of the basin, with an evident deficit of antiroot. Nevertheless, through the analysis of the profiles we can define: a) structural blocks composing the basement of the basin, b) their relative positions, and c) the future movements of these blocks (or differential ascent between them).
