dc.description.abstract Introduction: Experimental research development at the Library of the School of Nursing at UFRGS aiming at preserving and increasing the visibility of the collection of Work Conclusion of Graduate Course (TCC), 2001-2005, through its institutional repository available on LUME UFRGS. The printed collection of TCCs to be available on LUME, provide considerable gain physical space in the collection, in addition to standardizing support the collection of TCCs also avoiding duplication of informational media in the library. According to Leite (2009), digital repositories bring many benefits to universities including increased visibility, reputation and prestige of the supporting institution. Hollós and Silva (2010), claim that the document preservation is characterized as a responsible for managing the resources dedicated to ensure the physical integrity of documents activity, providing increased durability and providing access to present and future generations.Materials and Methods: After mapping the printed collection of TCCs in 2001-2005, available in the collection, and to make possible the electronic availability on LUME, it was necessary to search for the contact (email) authors to request their authorization to deliver their work to the repository. The search for the contacts occurred through the register by former student at UFRGS, not having success in this search, research was conducted on Google and Facebook. Through Facebook was sent a message "in box" to the author requesting your email for later sending the authorization form. After returning messages by Facebook formal emails were sent to request authorizations.Partial Results: As a partial result of the study, of 207 TCCs of the research period, 90 authors were located, 68 returned with the authorization available in the repository, and 22 authors have not yet returned the email.Partial Considerations: A preliminary assessment of the project is positive, as the library optimized the physical space of their collections and provided greater visibility to TCCs, since the works that were available only in print in the library collection were digitized and are available online. The work aims to extend to other collections that are Intellectual Production (IP) college, such as theses, dissertations, and technical and scientific reports. research development at the Library of the School of Nursing at UFRGS aiming at preserving and increasing the visibility of the collection of Work Conclusion of Graduate Course (TCC), 2001-2005, through its institutional repository available on LUME UFRGS.
