We present the results of a CCD survey of ten southern globular clusters. Image processing shows the existence of dark regions which may be the results of the presence of dust clouds. The behaviour of these cloud candidates in the BVRI bands can be explained as the result of the combination of geometric (i.e. position) and scattering effects. The intrinsic extinctions derived from model fittings range from 1 to 5 magnitudes in the visual while the average size is close to 0.25 parsecs in diameter.
