This work is addressed to the definition of the Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) in Santa Fe city, in the Littoral Region of Argentina. The knowledge of the typical year is a key issue for building the weather file needed by the software for Building Energy Simulation (BES). This work is based on meteorological data supplied by the Argentine Meteorological Service (SMN), including dry bulb temperature, dew point, relative humidity, etc., hourly surveyed along 14 years (2000-2013) at Sauce Viejo Airport (latitude 31.70ºS, longitude 60.82ºO, elevation 17 mamsl). Using statistics-based criteria, once for each of the twelve months of the year, one of all the months of the whole sample is catalogued as Typical Meteorological Month (TMM). The concatenation of the twelve TMMs defines the TMY.
