A method for direct determination in the Conventional International Origin System (C.I.O.) of GEOGRAPHIC LONGITUDE AND LATITUDE from a topocentric place is discussed. Simultaneous measurements of time (U.T.C.) and zenith distance of three non-specified celestial bodies (with well-known equatorial apparent coordinates) must be taken, within a short lapse. It does not demand a special observation program and the Gauss, Zinger and Pewsow methods may be derived as particular cases from the method here considered.
