We analyze the representations about "the scientific" in the audiences about the law of voluntary interruption of pregnancy in the Senate of Argentina (December 14 to 17, 2020). The metaargumentative ideologeme that confers relevance (only) to the arguments of a “scientific” aspect motivates this exploration. We resort to categories of argumentation theory rethought by the French discursive analysis. The detection of an overlap of discursive spheres invites to think about the delimitation of the scientific discourse in contexts of political decision.
