A two-dimensional time dependent model has been developed for investigating the influence of a one-directional and constant vertical wind shear on the evolution of shallow moist convection. The experimentation is focalized in the effect of wind shear not including the effects resulting from active evaporation in the cloud boundary and precipitation. Differences in the fields of thermodynamic and dynamical variables in relation to different lineal vertical wind profiles in the reference atmosphere, considering a case of atmosphere at rest as reference solution, are included and analyzed. The results are in agreement with those found by other investigators using similar numerical models in the sense that the presence of a lineal wind profile inhibits the growth of Cu moist convection organized in transversal rolls.
