Contribución argentina al proyecto internacional MERIT/COTES

Abstract

La definición de sistemas de referencia para astronomía y geodesia.es el motivo principal de este trabajo. En la primera parte, se resumen los sistemas en uso y las técnicas clásicas y modernas para su determinación. A fin de hacer compatibles todos los sistemas, la Unión Astronómica Internacional (UAI) y la Unión Geodésica y Geofísica Internacional (UGGI) planificaron la campaña interna cional MERIT que con la intervención de la Asociación Internacional de Geodesia (AIG) se convirtió en el grupo MERIT/COTES. La Argentina se incorporó a la campaña MERIT/COTES con la creación de un Grupo de Geodesia Satelitaria que coordinó el rastreo intensivo de satélites Transit y está -ahora- analizando los resultados y proyectando diversas actividades vinculadas que contribuirán al desarrollo geodésico argentino.

The definition of reference Systems in astronomy and geodesy is the principal subject of this paper. In the first part, the Systems in use and the classic and modera techniques for its determination are summarized. To make all Systems compatible, the International Astronomic Union (IAU) and the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysic (IUGG) have planned the MERIT INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN, which the intervention of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GEODESY (IAG) became the MERIT/COTES Group. Argentine joined the MERIT/COTES Compaign with a Satellite Geodesy Group which coordinated the tracking of Transit satellites. It is now analyzing the data and projecting several activities which will contribute to the Argentine geodetic development.
