Etiología y diagnóstico diferencial de las lesiones de mancha blanca sobre la superficie adamantina

Abstract

Los factores etiológicos de las manchas sobre la superficie adamantina deben ser cuidadosamente investigados. La primera manifestación de la caries del esmalte es la Mancha Blanca, por lo general es asintomática, extensa y poco profunda. Observamos en el esmalte la una superficie opaca, blanquecina y sin brillo, a nivel de las caras vestibular y lingual especialmente en el tercio gingival de dientes anteriores y si la lesión se detiene a tiempo se observa una mancha parda superpuesta. La Fluorosis es una alteración patológica causada por depósitos de flúor en tejidos mineralizados, de etiología definida por ingesta excesiva de fluoruros en la formación dental, clínicamente se caracteriza por manchas bilaterales, blancas, estriadas, o manchas de color amarillo a marrón. El diagnóstico diferencial se debe realizar con las lesiones de hipoplasias que son una formación incompleta o defectuosa de la matriz orgánica del esmalte del diente.

The etiological factors of the spots on the adamantine surface should be carefully investigated. The first manifestation of enamel caries is the White Spot, it is usually asymptomatic, extensive and shallow. We observed in the enamel an opaque, whitish and dull surface, at the level of the vestibular and lingual faces, especially in the gingival third of anterior teeth, and if the lesion stopped in time a brown spot was observed superimposed. Fluorosis is a pathological alteration caused by fluoride deposits in mineralized tissues, of etiology defined by excessive intake of fluorides in the dental formation, clinically characterized by bilateral spots, white, striated, or yellow to brown spots. The differential diagnosis should be made with the lesions of hypoplasias that are an incomplete or defective formation of the organic matrix of the enamel of the tooth.
