A grid of 63 square degrees centered at α=1ʰ35ᵐ, δ= -42°30ᵐ in Phoenix T1 (Kholopov, 1959) was observed with the 30-meter antenna of the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomía at 21-cm line. The mean value of Nₕ as deduced from the radio profiles is 8 x 10¹⁹ atom/cm² over the whole grid. No excess or deficiency of atomic hydrogen could be detected associated with the T Tauri stars region. An upper limit of 4 M⊙ was obtaiend for the neutral hydrogen in that region, assuming a distance of 100 parsec.
