Sobre la definición de la anomalía cronométrica

Abstract

En este trabajo intentamos precisar ideas referentes a la anomalía en los tiempos de llegada de las ondas sísmicas (que llamamos Anomalía Cronométrica). Después de discutir la fórmula Cij = Ai + Bi sen (Zij + Ei) estudiamos la influencia del efecto de elipticidad de la Tierra. Efectuamos una determinación del aplastamiento terrestre utilizando datos de estaciones convenientemente seleccionadas. Luego, analizamos la dependencia que la anomalía tiene con las condiciones locales de la corteza y del manto superior. Hacemos resaltar su importancia como dato que puede ser usado en la investigación del interior de la Tierra. Finalmente mostramos los resultados que hemos obtenido experimentalmente a lo largo de una línea de estaciones sísmicas que cruza la cordillera de los Andes entre fias latitudes 31° S y 33° S.

We are trying to define the seismic residual of the arrival time of seismic events. We call them Time Anomaly ("Anomalía Cronométrica"). We discuss the meaning of the station correction formula Cij = Ai + Bi (Zij + Ei) and the effect of the ellipticity of the earth. Also, the flattening of the earth through seismic data only is calculated. The Time Anomaly is closely related to the structure of the crust and the Upper Mantle. We enhance the importance of the new anomaly as a datum for the study of the earth interior and present our experimental results obtained along a line that crossed the Andes between the latitudes of 31° S and 33° S.
