Más allá de los contratistas

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como propósito principal mostrar las características, condiciones y prácticas de trabajo de los asalariados contratados directamente por las empresas agrícolas en la región pampeana. Frente a una escasez relativa de estudios sobre el trabajo agrícola pampeano y la mayor atención prestada al aporte laboral de los llamados “contratistas de maquinarias”, se analiza la inserción laboral actual de los asalariados permanentes, temporarios e incluso eventuales de la producción agrícola empresarial pampeana. Su participación en la estructura del empleo agrícola, las tareas y funciones que desempeñan, las condiciones laborales bajo las que se ocupan y su composición interna justifican el interés particular para el estudio de este segmento de trabajadores, a la vez que los diferencian de otros ocupados en las mismas actividades. Se utilizan de manera complementaria censos agropecuarios (de 2002 y 2018), una encuesta a asalariados agrícolas (2014) y entrevistas a trabajadores (2015). El análisis se referencia en las provincias de Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos y Santa Fe para los cultivos de trigo, soja y maíz.

The main purpose of this article is to show the characteristics, conditions and work practices of employees hired directly by agricultural companies in the Pampas region. Faced with a relative scarcity of studies on the agricultural work of the Pampas and the greater attention paid to the labor contribution of the so-called "machinery contractors", the current labor insertion of permanent, temporary, and even temporary employees of the Pampas business agricultural production is analyzed. Their participation in the structure of agricultural employment, the tasks, and functions they perform, the working conditions under which they are employed, and their internal composition justify the particular interest for the study of this segment of workers, while differentiating them from other occupied in the same activities. Agricultural censuses (from 2002 and 2018) a survey of agricultural wage earners (2014) and interviews with workers (2015) are used in a complementary manner. The analysis is referenced in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos and Santa Fe for wheat, soybean, and corn crops.
