O sionismo como postura intelectual e projeto político: uma aproximação da perspectiva palestina

Abstract

Este artigo se divide em duas partes. Na primeira, aborda os princípios centrais do sionismo como elaboração intelectual que responde negativamente à questão judaica na Europa. Argumenta que o caráter negativo desse ideário reside na comunhão de fundamentos com o problema mesmo a que pretende responder, o antissemitismo; bem como se alinha a uma perspectiva imperialista, colonial e racista em dois sentidos, particularmente europeia. Para isso, baseia-se nas concepções de autores fundadores do ideário sionista e do sionismo político, Moses Hess e Theodor Herzl, e de autores que examinam criticamente tanto a concepção teórica como a realização política do sionismo, isto é, a colonização da Palestina e a fundação do Estado de Israel. Na segunda parte, apresento a novela Retorno a Haifa, de Ghassan Kanafani, que contribui para concretizar o sentido colonial e intrinsecamente racista do projeto sionista e sua realização prática. O texto se insere na questão da tomada de posição diante de um problema social.

This article is divided into two parts. In the first, it addresses the central principles of Zionism as an intellectual elaboration that responds negatively to the Jewish question in Europe. It argues that the negative character of this set of ideas resides precisely in the communion of foundations with the very problem it intends to respond to, anti-Semitism; further, it aligns with an imperialist, colonial and two-way racist perspective, particularly European. For this, it is based on the conceptions of founding authors of the Zionist ideology, and political Zionism, Moses Hess and Theodor Herzl, and of authors who critically examine both the theoretical conception and the political realization of Zionism, that is, the colonization of Palestine and the foundation of the State of Israel. In the second part, I present the novel Return to Haifa, by Ghassan Kanafani, which contributes to concretize the colonial and intrinsically racist sense of the Zionist project and its practical realization. The text assumes the broad point of view of taking a position on a social problem.
