Apuntes para pensar la irrupción de la materia en el feminismo contemporáneo

Abstract

El presente trabajo supone la sistematización de una serie producciones teóricas que presentan la particularidad de mostrar un marcado interés en el aspecto material de los objetos, en particular, y del mundo no-humano en general. Este campo teórico emergente se conoce con el nombre de Nuevos Materialismos. Este “retorno a la materialidad” surge, en parte, como respuesta a la versión constructivista del análisis social, que se presenta como incapaz de abordar la complejidad del contexto biopolítico y de las políticas económicas globales actuales. Coincidimos con la necesidad de elaborar intersecciones entre miradas que hagan justicia tanto a la materialidad y sus procesos como a la dimensión ético-política que encuentra su lugar en el campo discursivo. La noción de quiasmo propuesta por Judith Butler parece presentarse como una forma de pensar al cuerpo atendiendo a la particularidad de su dimensión material y su inextricable anudamiento con la dimensión discursiva.

The present work is a systematization of a series of theoretical productions that have the particularity of showing a marked interest in the material aspect of objects, in particular, and of the non-human world in general. This emerging theoretical field is known as New Materialisms. This “return to materiality” arises, in part, as a response to the constructivist version of social analysis, which is presented as incapable of addressing the complexity of the current biopolitical context and global economic politics. We agree with the need to elaborate intersections between views that do justice both to materiality and its processes and to the ethical-political dimension that finds its place in the discursive field. The notion of chiasmus proposed by Judith Butler presents itself as a way of conceiving the body attending to the particularity of its material dimension and its inextricable knotting with the discursive dimension.
