Resistencia antihelmíntica en un tambo caprino en la Provincia de Buenos Aires

Abstract

Ante la consulta recibida en el Centro de Diagnóstico e Investigaciones Veterinarias (CEDIVE) por la muerte de 4 machos cabríos en un tambo caprino de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, se realizó la necropsia de uno de ellos. El diagnóstico presuntivo (pese a la gran cantidad de parásitos no se observaron signos clínicos o lesiones) fue de gastroenteritis verminosa, en base a la presencia de 26.600 ejemplares de Teladorsagia circumcincta (cuajo, intestino delgado y grueso); 26.000 de Trichostrongylus axei (cuajo) y 51.000 T. colubriformis (intestino delgado y grueso), sin presencia de Haemonchus spp. Posteriormente se realizó un test de reducción del conteo de huevos (10 cabrillas de recría por droga), resultando con eficacias globales de 67 %, 60 %, 75 %, 89 % y 50 % para las drogas ivermectina, eprinomectina, albendazol, levamisol y closantel respectivamente, con variaciones entre los géneros Haemonchus spp. y Trichostrongylus spp. Este reporte se suma a otros antecedentes e información disponible sobre las parasitosis en caprinos de la región.

In response to an enquiry made to the Veterinary Diagnostic and Research Center (CEDIVE) for the death of 4 male goats in a goat herd in the Province of Buenos Aires, a necropsy was performed on one of them. A presumptive diagnosis (despite the large number of parasites, no clinical signs or lesions were observed) of verminous gastroenteritis was made due to the presence of 26,600 Teladorsagia circumcincta (abomasum, small and large intestine), 26,000 Trichostrongylus axei (abomasum) and 51,000 T. colubriformis (small and large intestine) worms; Haemonchus spp. was not found. An egg count reduction test was carried out (10 breeding goats per drug), resulting in global efficiencies of 67 %, 60 %, 75 %, 89 % and 50 % for ivermectin, eprinomectin, albendazole, levamisole and closantel, respectively, with differences between the genera Haemonchus spp. and Trichostrongylus spp. This report adds to previous available information on parasitic diseases in goats in the region.
