Los SIG como herramientas para el análisis multidimensional de los estudios turísticos

Abstract

Los estudios sobre desarrollo turístico bajo una perspectiva multidimensional, involucra la interrelación de diversas variables que actúan simultáneamente en el espacio geográfico donde la nueva experiencia turística será planificada. Este enfoque representa una base para la sostenibilidad de la gestión turística, considerando que el turismo puede optimizarse en el territorio según diferentes criterios orientados a la preservación de los recursos naturales y la mitigación o regulación de los impactos negativos. Hoy en día existen herramientas tecnológicas que facilitan el manejo de las múltiples dimensiones de análisis. Los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) representan una herramienta poderosa y versátil para el análisis multidimensional de datos georreferenciados. Este trabajo presenta el desarrollo de un SIG para estudiar las comunidades vegetales que existen en torno al embalse artificial Boca de Río, San Luis, Argentina, el que encierra alto potencial turístico. La información derivada del SIG puesto en marcha, resulta de interés a la hora de planificar de forma multidimensional las futuras actividades turísticas en la zona, debiéndose tener en cuenta la fragilidad de las nuevas cubiertas vegetales que ahora son parte del paisaje de la región en torno al embalse, aportando información de interés para los tomadores de decisiones.

Studies on tourism development from a multidimensional perspective, involve the interrelation of various variables that act simultaneously in the geographic space where the new tourist experience will be planned. This approach represents a basis for the sustainability of tourism management, considering that tourism can be optimized in the territory according to different criteria aimed at the preservation of natural resources and the mitigation or regulation of negative impacts. Today there are technologies tools that facilitate the management of the multiple dimensions of analysis. Information Systems Geographic (GIS) represent a powerful and versatile tool for the multidimensional analysis of georeferenced data. This work presents the development of a GIS to study the plant communities that exist around the artificial reservoir Boca de Río, San Luis, Argentina, which contains a high tourist potential. The information derived from GIS implemented is of interest when planning future tourist activities in the area in a multidimensional way, taking into account the fragility of the new vegetation covers that are now part of the landscape of the region around to the reservoir, providing information of interest for who make decisions.
