La Inteligencia Artificial viste a la moda: reflexiones sobre sus posibilidades para el escenario educativo

Abstract

La Inteligencia Artificial (IA) es una rama de la Informática en la que se trabaja e investiga desde hace muchos años. En la actualidad, la IA ha cobrado auge con herramientas que con cierta facilidad de uso y acceso, ofrecen oportunidades para realizar actividades cognitivas que llevamos a cabo las personas diariamente, tales como sintetizar, comparar, resolver problemas, crear, etc. Y es en este sentido, que se han generado debates, preocupaciones y nuevas necesidades de capacitación y formación en el tema, para poder realizar un aprovechamiento adecuado de estas tecnologías. En el escenario educativo, de manera particular, se ha suscitado una tensión entre aquellos que rápidamente han ido adoptando algunas de estas herramientas frente a quienes las miran con temor y desconfianza. En este trabajo se propone un análisis de la temática y una reflexión crítica sobre las potencialidades de la IA para el escenario educativo, con la idea de aportar elementos y ejemplos para su utilización, por parte de docentes y estudiantes, con atención a sus limitaciones y posibilidades.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of Computer Science that has been worked on and researched for many years. Currently, AI has gained popularity with tools that, with certain ease of use and access, offer opportunities to perform cognitive activities that people carry out daily, such as synthesizing, comparing, solving problems, creating, etc. And it is in this sense that debates, concerns and new training and education needs have been generated in order to be able to make proper use of these technologies. In the educational scenario, in particular, a tension has arisen between those who have been rapidly adopting some of these tools and those who view them with fear and distrust. This paper proposes an analysis of the subject and a critical reflection on the potential of AI for the educational scenario, with the idea of providing elements and examples for its use by teachers and students, paying attention to its limitations and possibilities.
