Los esclavos cristianos frente al martirio: una lectura del fenómeno desde las actas martiriales de fines del siglo II d.C.

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo será enfocar la percepción que las Actas de los Mártires de fines del siglo II propusieron sobre la esclavitud. En la arena, el esclavo martirizado dejaba atrás su estatus, su condición de género y cualquier otra categoría social para adoptar una nueva identidad, gracias a su sacrificio y su fidelidad.

The objective of this work is to show the perception that the Acts of the martyrs proposed about slavery at the end of the II century. In the arena, the slave suffering martyrdom let behind his status, his gender condition and any other social category to adopt a new identity, thanks to his sacrifice and his loyalty.
