Rubén Darío, el modernismo y los paisajes culturales

Abstract

Analizamos los paisajes culturales en varias poesías de Rubén Darío presentes en su poemario Prosas profanas (1896) a partir de estudios interdisciplinarios provenientes de la geografía y que han sido claves para la arquitectura. Partimos de la clásica definición de paisajes culturales de Carl O. Sauer, luego Sabaté Bel y, por último, Carlos Reboratti. La transición de paisajes naturales a paisajes de cultura que se da en la geografía y arquitectura está presente en Rubén Darío con el trabajo estético del artificio y las fuentes europeas de arte que están presentes en sus poesías y conforman sus paisajes culturales, pero también, y este es nuestro aporte al tema, sus paisajes espirituales.

We analyze the cultural landscapes in several poems by Rubén Darío in his poetry collection Prosas profanas (1896) based on interdisciplinary studies from geography that have been key to architecture. We start with the classic definition of cultural landscapes by Carl O. Sauer, then Sabaté Bel and, finally, Carlos Reboratti. The transition from natural landscapes to landscapes of culture that occurs in geography and architecture is present in Rubén Darío with the aesthetic work of the artifice and the European sources of art that are present in their poems and shape their cultural landscapes, but also, and this is our contribution to the theme, its spiritual landscapes.
