Defensa defensiva, pero activa y revisionista para la Argentina

Abstract

Para la Argentina, la defensa nacional es fundamental para recuperar la soberanía efectiva sobre las Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur. Este ensayo argumenta que la política de defensa del país debe estructurarse a partir de la presencia colonial, militar, ilegal e ilegítima del Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte en las Islas del Atlántico Sur. En función de ello, se sostiene que la defensa de la Argentina debe ser defensiva, activa y revisionista. A su vez, se indica que la clave de esta orientación está en aumentar los costos que tiene la potencia colonial en mantener su ocupación militar del territorio usurpado. El artículo explora tres dimensiones de la defensa. En primer lugar, su rol en el objetivo argentino vinculado a la recuperación de la soberanía efectiva de las islas del Atlántico Sur. En segundo lugar, la atención política asimétrica que recibe el Atlántico Sur por parte de la Argentina y de la potencia colonial. En tercer lugar, el papel que tienen los intereses en la definición de los aliados por parte de la Argentina. El trabajo concluye con la exposición de las reflexiones centrales.

For Argentina, national defense is essential to recover effective sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia, and South Sandwich Islands. The essay argues that the country's defense policy must be structured based on the colonial, military, illegal and illegitimate presence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the South Atlantic Islands. Based on this, it is argued that Argentina's defense policy must be defensive, active and revisionist. At the same time, it is indicated that the key to this orientation is to increase the costs that the colonial power has in order to maintain the military occupation of the usurped territory. The article explores three dimensions of defense policy. Firstly, its place in the Argentine objective linked to the recovery of effective sovereignty of the South Atlantic Islands. Secondly, the asymmetric political attention that the South Atlantic receives from Argentina and the colonial power. Thirdly, the role of the interest in Argentina's definition of allies. The essay concludes with the presentation of the central reflections.
