Local-as-view integration of ontologies in defeasible logic programming

Abstract

Ontology integration is the problem of combining data sources in the SemanticWeb. Concepts in source ontologies are captured in terms of concepts de ned in a global ontology. When some of these ontologies are inconsistent, the knowledge engineer often has no authority to correct them. In this article we show how to perform local-as-view integration of possibly inconsistent ontologies in terms of Defeasible Logic Programming
