El Derecho Público Provincial y Municipal es una disciplina jurídica vinculada al derecho constitucional en los estados organizados bajo el régimen federal. Su objeto está enmarcado a las relaciones propias de la federación, la descentralización del poder y competencias en las provincias y municipios, así como las vinculaciones entre sí. Para su conocimiento puede utilizarse los métodos exegéticos, comparativos, históricos, histórico-político-económico, federalista, trialista, integrador. Entre los primeros docentes de la materia en la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídica y Sociales de la UNLP contamos a Carlos Saavedra Lamas, David Peña y Juan A. González Calderón.

Public Law is related to Constitutional law, which is the law who organized the Federal States. It´s object is under the frame of Federal relationship, power of the States and faculties under the Provinces and Municipalities. The method that we used to study this kind of law is the comparative and historical law; politics, economics and history, trying to put together the federal law in an integrative way. Between the first Professors of the Subject Public and Municipal Law in our Faculty of Juridical and Social Sciences, UNLP, we can mention Carlos Saavedra Lamas, David Peña and Juan. A.
