Metodología etnográfica y juegos de lenguaje

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present some relationships between some aspects of the Wittgensteinian Language-Game theory and certain assumptions operating on the base of ethnographic methodology. These assumptions aim to a demarcation of meaningful units to be considered in the ethnographic record and to a typification of the activity, or activities, conducing to such demarcatíon. Within the frame of that philosophical conception which goes beyond a mere investigation of language, delving into its foundations in a form of lífe- we believe we find unifying principIes which make possible to articulate these assumptíons and to reach a more comprehensive standpoint from where to do research into the ethnographic production's objet and context.

El propósito de este trabajo es presentar algunas relaciones entre aspectos de la teoría wittgensteiniana de los Juegos del Lenguaje y ciertos supuestos que operan en la base de la metodología etnográfica. Estos supuestos giran en torno a la delimitación de unidades significativas a considerar en el registro etnográfico y a la caracterización del tipo de actividad que conduce a tal delimitación. En el marco de esa concepción filosófica, que trasciende una mera reflexión sobre el lenguaje indagando en sus fundamentos en una forma de vida, creemos hallar principios unificadores que hacen posible articular estos supuestos y alcanzar una visión más comprehensiva del objeto y del contexto de la producción etnográfica.
