Situación del carbunclo rural en la Argentina 2011

Abstract

Desde hace 8 años se elabora este informe sobre la Situación Anual del Carbunclo Rural producido por la bacteria esporulada Bacillus anthracis, siendo una zoonosis, enferma a animales y hombres relacionados con la labor ganadera. Los escenarios evaluados anualmente por este informe de “Epidemiología Participativa” son: 1- Área de Evaluación del Carbunclo Rural en la Pcia. de Buenos Aires donde ocurrieron 5 brotes bovinos. Con una distribución porcentual anual del 5% en bovinos muertos súbitamente manteniendo el 12% durante el periodo 1977-2011.2- Zona de Alerta y Respuesta, involucra al Partido de Azul, donde ocurrió 1 brote de carbunclo bovino y 1 Alerta por accidente vacunal .3- Los aislamientos de B. anthracis en otros Laboratorios de Diagnósticos totalizaron 19 brotes provenientes de la Pcia. de Buenos Aires y La Pampa. 4-Los Partidos de la Pcia. de Buenos Aires involucrados durante el 2011 con brotes de Carbunclo fueron: Azul-Alvear-Trenque Lauquen-Rauch.5- La Producción nacional de vacuna anticarbunclosa de uso veterinario cepa Sterne fue de 18.774.050 dosis. 6- Casos de Carbunclo Humanos: resultaron 3 en el área de la Pcia de Buenos Aires, todos dérmicos, varones, relacionados a tareas rurales.7-Otros hechos relacionados con el Carbunclo Rural: se describieron 6 acciones relacionadas con organismos nacionales e internacionales vinculadas con la enfermedad. Tenemos todas las soluciones para su control, todavía no se ha logrado el objetivo. En 1886 Louis Pasteur, remitió a la Argentina la primera vacuna de uso veterinario para prevención de esta zoonosis, está la esperanza de cumplir dicho mandato.

CONDITION OF RURAL CARBUNCLE IN ARGENTINA 2011. This report of the Annual Condition of Rural Carbuncle produced by the spore bacteria Bacillus anthracis has been created every year since 2004. This zoonosis infects animals and people related to cattle labor. There was a 5 % annual distribution of bovines suddenly dead and a 12 % during the term 1977-2011. 2- Alert and Response Zone, involving the district of Azul, where there was one outbreak of bovine carbuncle and one Alert for vaccine accident. 3- The isolations of Bacillus anthracis in other Diagnosis Labs accounted for 19 outbreaks from the Provinces of Buenos Aires and La Pampa. 4- The districts of the Province of Buenos Aires involved with Carbuncle outbreaks during 2011 are the following: Azul District; Azul - Alvear - Trenque Lauquen - Rauch. 5- The national production of Sterne stump anti-carbuncle vaccine for vet use was of 18,774,050 doses. 6- Cases of Human Carbuncle: there were 3 cases in the area of the Province of Buenos Aires; all of them affected the skin of males involved in rural tasks. 7- Other facts related to Rural Carbuncle: there are 6 actions stated and related to National and International Bodies linked with this disease. We have all the necessary solutions for its con56 trol but the goal has not been achieved yet. Since 1886, the moment when Louis Pasteur sent to Argentina the first vaccine for vet use to prevent said disease, we are optimistic about fulfilling said goal.
