El <i>Herald</i> y las tres claves interpretativas durante la transición a la democracia

Abstract

La derrota militar en Malvinas trajo aparejado el ocaso de la dictadura cívico-militar instaurada en 1976 dando inicio la etapa de transición hacia la democracia que tuvo un punto de inflexión en los comicios generales que consagraron a R. Alfonsín como presidente. El Herald, si bien contribuyó desde su columna institucional con la destitución del tercer gobierno justicialista, no por ello dejó de fustigar las políticas censorias y violatorias de los derechos humanos ejecutadas por los jerarcas del Proceso de Reorganización Nacional. En el presente artículo proponemos interpelar su argumentación editorial mediante tres claves interpretativas, con las que se propuso incidir en transición para alumbrar una opción electoral se convirtiera en un punto de inflexión en la institucionalidad argentina.

The military defeat on the Malvinas Islands (the Falklands) entailed the decline of civic-military dictatorship established in 1976, beginning the transition to democracy whose turning point was in the general elections where R. Alfonsín was elected president. Even though the Herald contributed from its institutional column with the dismissal of the third Peronist government, it did not cease lashing censorial policies and human rights violations implemented by the hierarchs the Process of National Reorganization of that dictatorship. In this article we propound to question the line of argument of its leading articles through three interpretative keys, with which it was proposed to influence the transition to illuminate an electoral option that would become a turning point of the institutional operation of the government in Argentine.
