Participación e identidad en el proyecto radio Pocas Pulgas

Abstract

El presente trabajo se inscribe dentro del programa Promotores de Comunicación Popular, de la Secretaría de Extensión de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). En este marco, colaboramos con un proyecto de radio llevado adelante por tres centros educativos-comunitarios del partido de San Fernando, provincia de Buenos Aires. La principal demanda fue trabajar en la conformación y capacitación de un grupo interbarrial, que pudiese llevar adelante la radio comunitaria. Nos propusimos impulsar procesos que permitieran integrar a los jóvenes de los centros para que se apropien de un proyecto común. Basándonos en el abordaje comunitario de la comunicación, se buscó fortalecer y ampliar la participación. Dicho proceso permitió redefinir discursivamente al barrio y, por otro lado, permitió reflexionar sobre la identidad de estos jóvenes y cómo el proceso de construcción y sostenimiento de un medio de comunicación comunitario pone en cuestionamiento el sentido con el que se los estigmatiza. Nuestro objetivo aquí es analizar el cruce entre el proceso de construcción de un medio comunitario y los espacios que abre, para reflexionar acerca de la propia identidad.

The present paper is registered within the programme Promoter of Popular Communication from the Secretary of Extension of the Social Studies College, U.B.A. In this context we collaborate with a radio project carried forward by three educational-community centres from San Fernando district, province of Buenos Aires. The main demand was to work in the makeup and training of a group conformed by young people fron different neighbourhood that could carry forward a communal radio. We decided to encourage processes that enabled us to integrate the young people of the centres in order that they could work together and take ownership of a common project. Basing us on the community approach of communication, we thought to strengthen and widen participation. This proccess allowed us, on the one hand to redefine neighbourhood and on the other hand to reflect on the identity of these young people and on how the proccess of building and sustaining a community media questions the sense in which they are stigmatized. Our aim here is to reflect on the crossing between the proccess of building and the spaces it opens to think about self identity.
