Experiences involving the development of strategies to promote the students’ active and collaborative participation in large courses are described. This work also includes a weekly schedule with the following guidelines: theory lecture, followed by the corresponding practical class based on a "procedure for solving exercises" presented by the teacher in charge, and activities undertaken by students which include teamwork, a short multiple choice test and homeworks presented by the students in WORD® format; all of which give rise to a "course quality coefficient” that shows the individual performance in such activities. The aforementioned coefficient is included into the final outcome of the examinations in order to complete the "continuous assessment", besides serving as a stimulus for the student and providing a "continuous learning" scheme.
