Enfermedad periodontal progresiva: estudio de dos biomarcadores salivales

Abstract

La IL-1 y el TNF-a son potentes estimuladores de reabsorción ósea. El objetivo es la identificación de IL-1 y TNF-a en saliva de pacientes con enfermedad periodontal, en fases operatoria y mantenimiento. Se tomó una muestra de 30 individuos enfermos periodontales. Se realizó historia clínica, seriada periapical, índice de placa y medición de la profundidad de la bolsa periodontal. Se recogieron muestras de saliva que se estudiaron por cromatografía gaseosa identificando niveles de IL-1 y TNF-a. Etapa operatoriael índice de placa fue 72% leve y 18% moderado. Los niveles de IL-1 fueron de 618 pg/mL y los niveles del TNF-a 55,29 pg/mL. Etapa de mantenimiento el índice de placa fue 69% leve y 21% moderado. En los 23 pacientes con índice de placa leve y sin sangrado al sondaje los niveles de IL-1 fueron de 583,11 pg/mL y los del TNF-a 47,48 pg/mL. En los 7 pacientes con índice de placa moderado y sangrado al sondaje el nivel de IL-1 fue de 887,36 y los del TNF-a 101 pg/mL y recidiva de la enfermedad. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian el valor de los biomarcadores como factor determinante al momento de establecer su incidencia en la gravedad de la enfermedad periodontal.

In 7 patients with plaque index moderated and bleeding on probing IL-1 level was 887,36 and TNF-a 101 pg/mL and recurrence of the disease. Them results obtained demonstrate the value of them biomarkers as factor determinant to the moment of establish its incidence in the gravity of the disease periodontal.
