The ichthyofauna of the Arroyo Urugua-i, one of the most important tributaries of the Paraná River in Misiones (Argentina), is analized. The aim of this study is to provide information about the species occurring before the construction of the Urugua-i reservoir. A number of reported species are new references for the surveyed area, and the species Apareiodon piracicabae is reported for the first time for Argentina.
