Abstract

Introducción: En la actualidad los avances tecnológicos y proliferación de la imagen son dos propiedades importantes para el proceso de comunicación y valor documental. Es por eso que la fotografía se ha convertido en una herramienta muy importante en la odontología, no solo para el paciente, que podrá ver los mejores resultados sino a demás, para el odontólogo como documento y seguimiento del caso. Objetivos: 1. introducir al odontólogo en el mundo de la fotografía y la importancia en el análisis fotográfico. 2. Incorporar conocimientos del manejo de retractores y espejos en el momento de la fotografía. Material y métodos: la metodología utilizada consistió en la revisión bibliográfica y evidencia publicada en los últimos cinco años, aplicando un método descriptivo y narrativo. Resultados: De acuerdo con los criterios establecidos se ha informado al odontólogo sobre fotografía y su importancia. Manejo de elementos auxiliares. Y la recomendación respecto a la toma de imagen. Conclusión: La captura de imagen nos permite acompañar los diagnósticos y tratamientos, optimizando el trabajo en los consultorios, como así también lograr un material que documente y archive cada caso clínico. Además permite la evaluación del caso clínico, tener un mayor registro, y ver con el paciente los cambios y evolución del tratamiento.

That is why photography becomes a very important tool in dentistry, not only the patient, who will be able to see the best results but also, for the dentist as a document and follow-up of the case. Objectives: to introduce the dentist in the world of photography and the importance in photographic analysis. Incorporate knowledge of the use of retractors and mirrors at the time of photography. Provide the professional with recommendations for intraoral photography. Material and methods: The methodology used consisted in the bibliographic review and evidence published in the last five years, applying a descriptive and narrative method. Results: According to the established criteria, the dentist has been informed about the photograph and its importance. Handling of auxiliary elements. And the recommendation regarding the image taking. Conclusion: The image capture allows us to accompany the diagnoses and treatments, optimizing the work in the offices, as well as achieving a material that documents and records each case in particular. It also allows the evaluation of the clinical case, to have a greater registry, and to see with the patient the changes and evolution of the treatment.
