¿Leer es investigar?

Abstract

El artículo reflexiona sobre las condiciones en las que se enmarca el desarrollo de una investigación teórica en el campo de las ciencias sociales. A partir de la experiencia de una indagación en torno al pensamiento de Louis Althusser, se analizan las operaciones que constituyen el ejercicio de lectura que vertebra la investigación; se exploran las circunstancias coyunturales que le otorgan relevancia y oportunidad, así como los rasgos inmanentes al cuerpo teórico que justifican la operación específica de la lectura a la que se lo somete. Finalmente, se asume la necesidad de precisar qué se entiende por lectura, y en relación con ello, desplegar las consecuencias epistemológicas de su ejercicio. Éstas quedan expuestas cuando se advierte que un ejercicio de lectura produce su objeto como horizonte. En el caso de la investigación aquí referida, la problemática althusseriana constituye, a la vez, el objeto conjeturado y el resultado de una reconstrucción rigurosamente justificada, en el que consiste la investigación misma.

The work focuses on the conditions in which the development of a theoretical research in the field of social sciences is framed. Based on an inquiry regarding Louis Althusser’s writings, I analyze the operations that constitute the practice of reading that support the research; the circumstances that confer it relevance and opportunity are explored, as well as the immanent features of the theoretical body that justify the specific operation of the reading to which it is submitted. Finally, the article stresses the need to precise what is meant by reading, and in this way, to display the epistemological consequences of its practice. These are exposed when one notices that a reading exercise produces its object as its own horizon. In the case of the research referred to here, the Althusserian problematic constitutes the conjectured object and the result of a rigorously justified reconstruction, in which the investigation itself consists.
